Team Leader, Chair of Trustees
Rupert Ward
I am the team leader of the Network. My main focus is nurturing healthy leaders and healthy churches, so I spend time supporting leaders of Network Churches, and resourcing their leadership teams. I have been in church leadership since graduating with a degree in theology many years ago and am also the team leader at Community Church Edinburgh (CCE).
I am trained in conflict transformation and facilitation (with Bridge Builders and others), so also do some freelance work of facilitation, coaching, training, team building, and mediation.
I am married to Pippa, and we have three adult (or nearly adult) children.

Leadership Team
Sarah Dowling
My husband Chris and I lead King’s Inverness, a non-denominational church in the Highlands and I am also part of the Network leadership team.
I love seeing churches innovate in sharing Jesus’ love with their communities and people being transformed through the power of God at work in their lives.
My hope is that the Network will see more churches planted and established churches thriving and responding to local needs. Worship, song, and sound are some of my passions (as well as a serious love for a good cup of tea!), and I’m developing a heart for worship leaders writing songs that reflect their individual contexts and prophetically speak into the lives of those singing them.
Chris and I have two teenage children and a noisy, fluffy dog.

Leadership Team
Emma MacIntosh
I’m part of the SNC leadership team and have a deep passion for seeing more women equipped and released into leadership across Scotland. I also long to see more leaders raised up from marginalised communities, and for new and diverse expressions of church to be planted—especially in places that have often been overlooked.
I’m known as someone who’s good at helping things come to an end—because I believe that when something stops, it creates space for God to begin something new and exciting.
I currently serve as Senior Leader at Clay Community Church in Possilpark, a church I helped to plant 15 years ago through an Urban Expression team. Alongside this, I work part-time for Bethany Christian Trust as a Community Development Worker in the same community. I’m also a mission partner and trustee of Urban Expression.
I enjoy good quality coffee, camping, and cake (especially if it’s homemade!). I’m married to Dave, and we have two adult children and two very energetic cats.

Operations Lead, Leadership Team
Gill Lyth
I am part of the Leadership Team and the Operations Lead for the Network. I also head up the work of Prospects Across Scotland, a charity that encourages and equips churches to be welcoming places for people with learning disabilities.
I spent time touring the UK as a speaker for Care for the Family, a national family support charity, and in the dim and distant past I was a chocolatier for 5* hotels, A-list celebrities and royalty. Now, rather than creating chocolates, I simply eat them!
I am married to Stan and we have two children - Joel who has flown the nest, and Hope who is at home. Along with Stan and Hope, I planted an intergenerational congregation as part of Liberty Church, Dunfermline three years ago, and we love being a part of this unique community.
My particular interest is in speaking about mental health through my own experience of living with it, and in reducing stigma around it.

I am married and have two wonderful children. I love to cook for them and their friends and I love travelling, especially to Italy.

Missional Consultant, Launch Team, Wider Leadership Team
Andrew Strutzenberg
I am the Edinburgh Team Leader for Communitas International, whose mission is to start and shape communities of faith that love like Jesus in their neighbourhoods. For four and a half years, I was attached to Mustard Seed Church in Leith, where I served first as Mission Enabler and then Interim Church Leader before moving onto Community Church Edinburgh as the Mission Activator.
Within the Network, I serve on the Launch Leadership, Church Multiplication and Wider Leadership teams. My passion is to see new communities of faith and Good News emerge amidst populations that are historically underserved or marginalised by the church or society.
Originally from the United States, I taught Theology and Ethics at the university level and was involved in a variety of ministry and entrepreneurial ventures before moving to Scotland with my family in 2020. I have a B.A. in Philosophy from Bethel University (St.Paul, MN) and an M.Div. from Denver Seminary (Colorado).
I enjoy photography, cooking, watching my kids play football, cold water swimming, and anything that will get me outdoors.

Launch Team
Moira & Simon Baxter
We are the coaching leads on the Launch programme. We have been involved in pioneer ministry for about 12 years, with experience in urban community work, leadership, and coaching & mentoring. Previously we co-led a mission team with InnerCHANGE in Possilpark, Glasgow, where we were based for 9 years. In 2022, we felt a deep calling to support others doing similar work which led us to train in coaching and set up a ministry called Trellis which aims to support pioneers to be sustainable in their callings. Now based in Summerston, North Glasgow, we continue to engage in pioneer ministry locally while supporting others through our work with Trellis. Outside of ministry, we enjoy family life with our two girls, aged 5 & 8, who keep us on our toes! I, Moira love making music, doing pilates and being in nature. And I, Simon love going on cycling adventures, playing squash and following my favourite football team Liverpool FC.

I stay near Inverness where I am part of the leadership team at King's Inverness. I am delighted to serve as a trustee for the Network as we seek to encourage and support flourishing churches across Scotland. I have a background in community development and youth work, and now work for Kintsugi Hope, a Christian charity seeking to support churches to be places where mental health is spoken about with honesty and met with compassion. Outside of work, I enjoy wild swimming, even in the winter!

Trustee
Stuart Aitken
As a trustee, I help with finance and human resources. It's been encouraging to see the network raise more money over the last two years to enable us to provide more support for network churches and to start "Launch", a programme to help equip church planters and leaders for a changing world.
I'm the Lead Pastor at St. John's Church, Linlithgow. I'm married to Kate, who is a primary music teacher, and we have four children; Josh, Kharis, Isla and Lucas.
I'm rather competitive and I enjoy football and golf.
